Support Philippine Tourism during COVID19

Bayanihan 2 is a trending topic among Tourism stakeholders and as our politicians will be presenting the final bill, the private sector which is affected massively by COVID19 pandemic continues to explore options to remain optimistic to embody the slogan “It’s More Fun in the Philippines”

More organizations are asking to alot funds in Tourism as Cong. Lray Villafuerte allocates the fund for infrastructure alone, that is a ridiculous opinion coming from someone who promoted CamSur as wakeboarding destination.

I have been attending a lot of previous webinars of DOT, DTI and even from international associations, and we wanted to remain creative at this moment so we can remain productive as the economy struggles to survive.

We will be available on Facebook at 10 am here at this page Philippine Business and Entrepreneurs Expo

In a text message, Drilon said the tourism sector got P10 billion, of which P6 billion is for soft loans for tourism MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) under the Department of Trade and Industry’s Small Business Corporation.

The senator said the rest — P3 billion will be coursed through the Department of Labor and Employment to help displaced tourism workers while P1 billion was allotted for tourism infrastructure to be handled by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

“Sila ang tinamaan nang husto dahil walang domestic tourism (They were the ones badly hit [by the pandemic] because there was no domestic tourism),” he stressed.

“Sinikap namin sa Senado sa aming version na maglagay ng P10 billion tulong para sa kanila (We, in the Senate [contingent in the bicam] tried to put in our [Bayanihan 2] version of P10 billion [financial] aid for them),” Drilon added.
